Join us for a 45-minute tour of United Record Pressing, Nashville’s one-stop record-making shop since 1949. From working with Vee Jay Records to release the first 7” Beatles vinyl in America to pressing Jay-Z’s The Black Album, United Record Pressing is a working museum that pays homage to the breadth of artists and genres that have helped shape its history. The tour will include the infamous Motown Suite. With few accommodations for African Americans in the 1950s and 1960s, the Motown Suite became the go-to for Motown execs. This apartment, located above the factory, still features novel ’60s décor. Also included in the tour is the Party Room. Once used as event space, this room hosted record label signing parties for folks like Wayne Newton, The Cowsills, and a then-16-year-old Hank Williams Jr.
